The lead instrument almost sounds like a dark carnival, but I can also see why you chose the title. I like the string staccatos, although somewhat repetitive you did a good job keeping the song intriguing. I could hear a flute instrument in the background which added extra filling to the mix, so I can honestly say that you are on the right start. It is always good to add extra things here in there to give your song a unique sound.

I applaud your good work.

Azrael626 responds:

I greatly appreciate your review, and I will strive to make my songs less repetitive in the future.

I enjoyed the vocal harmonies at the end -- truly angelic. However, the percussion was a little basic and there was a wee bit too much bass with the kick.

I am not sure why you chose the title that you did, but regardless you have created quite an excellent track. It sounds and even feels heroic to some degree and builds up anticipation.

Bardash responds:

Thank you for your review!

Basically I chose the title due to the inspiration I received for this track. Ultimately the anticipation and heroic feel you mention follows the theological beliefs that I hold.

I have been listening to this track quite a few times as I drive to work each day, and I am thinking of revisiting the percussion in the final climatic part of the composition.

Thank you again for listening!

Will you teach me? How much do you charge for lessons?

SoundChris responds:

Hey there Bosa, i am really very glad especially you liked it! I think i could learn a lot more from you then converse - my music theoretical knowledge is quite basic and i am composing just by ear :D So there is still so much i have to learn and i hope i will improve as fast as possible - i promise to try my very best good sir!

I really like how well this song is sequenced and mastered. I may not be an electronic expert, but I do know good music when I hear it. You've done a great job giving the feeling that there is a struggle going on while the music plays.

I really have nothing negative to say. A solid track all around.

ForeverBound responds:

Thanks man

All hail the mighty Samulis, who will destroy us all with his new found powers.

samulis responds:

Indeed! All shall fear my masterful ability over the great recorder! None could ever compare to me!

I'm suing you for stealing my song's name. I'm taking this to the supreme court.

stunkel responds:

Damnit... not again... Welp, time to get a lawyer I guess... see you in court!

Masterful. Brilliant.

If only I could even come close to your level. Your voice is perfect.

headphoamz responds:

*bows* Thank you, sensei.

I love the cartoon style of music. It is so chaotic, and actually requires quite a bit of skill to pull off correctly. You could definitely make stuff for kids.

The choice of lead instruments was quite interesting, lol. You also did a great job with the xylophone! Your composition is remarkable.

My only problem was the percussion. Not that it sounded unrealistic, but because there wasn't a lot of dynamics. With its volume turned up, I could easily pick it out and my OCD immediately was triggered.

5 Starz - 5 Vote

steampianist responds:

OH MY!!... Thank for reviewing this. im glad that you appreciate the chaotic element in this piece!

ah the percussion i have to agree with you.. though i did try to compensate with random percussive effects :D and im sorry for triggering your OCD :P

Excellent work, sir. You have truly captured an emotionally stirring piece that reflects the description you depicted in your author comments.

I'm not going to pick apart every inch of the song. The only thing that really caught me off guard was the horns. There was a segment starting at 1:47 where they were playing in an upper registry and it sounded quite awkward to me. I don't think real horn players would adjust to it so well.

Everything else is sound, though. I love the choirs you added into the song. With more practice in composition you will truly thrive in the cinematic genre.

SoundChris responds:

Thanks a lot, good sir! I definitely will try to get more knowledge about the way real horns work and also the art of composition and orchestration - i think improving the music theoretical abilities and analyzing film scores will also be an important point if i plan to compose scores earnestly. Thanks so much for your constructive criticism sir - it will help me a lot!

All the best!

I haven't dug deep into this kind of music since the yahr of 2004. The source of your bg sfx is very interesting. However, I would like to know what you were doing in your grandmother's attic.

This song is definitely reminiscent of some of the earlier Newgrounds tracks you could find in the portal. I must say kudos for an excellent Drum N' Bass track -- you always cease to amaze me with your unmatched skill and talent.

5/5 Stars * 5 Vote of course

midimachine responds:

i'll tell you what i wasn't doing up there: not masturbating!
